Claire Hickaway

Barn Staff

Claire grew up in Calgary, Alberta, and animals have always been a part of her life. She rode competitively in the Hunter/Jumpers for 5 years before making the switch to the western world. This is when she began starting horses and putting miles on them. She was a technologist assistant at a small animal 24/hour emergency clinic, and decided to make the switch to equine medicine. In her spare time she enjoys riding her horses and spending time outdoors.

Kara Sleeman

Barn Staff

After growing up in Southern Ontario, Kara made the move to Alberta and brought her passion for horses along with her. She has spent much of her life around horses and volunteering at therapeutic riding facilities, where her interest in helping animals first began. She went on to graduate from the 2 year Equine Massage Therapy program at Trios College and is a registered member of the International Federation of Registered Equine Massage Therapists (FREMT). When she is not with horses, you’ll find her in the mountains or curled up on the couch with her dogs.

Keona Tan

Barn Staff

Keona has spent the last 13 years immersed in the equestrian world and competes in show jumping competitions whenever the opportunity arises.  Her time in the saddle and working around the barn has sparked a strong passion for animal health and welfare, and she hopes to turn that passion into a career in veterinary medicine.  When she’s not at the barn, you’ll usually find her hiking in the mountains, out with friends, or on a spontaneous road trip.

Kylie Duerksen

Barn Staff

Kylie is an experienced groom and stable hand with a strong foundation in horse care, wellness, and day-to-day barn operations. Before joining Moore's, she supported several local Hunter/Jumper programs, where her hands-on work sparked a deeper interest in equine nutrition, rehabilitation, and medical care. She began her education at the Canadian Equine Therapy Institute before transitioning into Veterinary Technology and is currently on track to graduate in 2027. In her free time, she enjoys unwinding with a good book or movie, getting out on the trails with her two dogs, and spending quality time with her two rescue horses Skye & Bourbon.

Ryley Glavine

Barn Staff

Ryley joined Moore Equine in 2022 as part of the barn staff team.  She is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Science in Agriculture, majoring in Animal Science, with aspirations of attending veterinary school.  When she isn’t working or studying, you can find her at the barn with her thoroughbred jumper, Wrigley, or out on an adventure with her corgi, Ripley.
