Practice Manager
Do you enjoy hands-on, solution-oriented, team management, and serving as an ambassador for employees? At Moore Equine, we are looking for a dedicated, people-focused Practice Manager with excellent human resource experience to join our team. This position will oversee all daily operations, including developing and implementing systems, policies, and processes needed to manage current and future activities. The ideal candidate will be able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment and interact with doctors, non-doctor personnel, and clients, handling various facets of the overall operations, including administering, executing, monitoring, and communicating Human Resources efforts and benefits. The Practice Manager position is open to candidates with a college degree in a related field, with at least three years of experience.

Established in 1951, Moore Equine is the largest Equine Practice in Canada, we are also one of the main referral centers for Western Canada. The Practice Manager position is a critical role to our organization with a Monday through Friday schedule from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and occasional work on weekends. Essential Duties and Responsibilities of the Practice Manager include the following:

Manage all employees and operational processes (SOPs) of two practice locations to ensure consistency and unification of the overall operation.

Promote a client-centered environment and facilitate programs and processes that meet client needs.

Promote a cooperative working environment among staff members; understand the value of teamwork; show enthusiasm and willingness to perform as necessary to help the practice function as a unit.

Facilitate, execute, and communicate human resources efforts related to employee standards and procedures, talent acquisition and management, employee relations, benefits, worker’s compensation claims, onboarding, and general support

Collaborate with departmental supervisors to understand hiring needs, executing the full cycle of the talent acquisition process including recruitment, interviewing, reference checking, and hiring

Serve as point person for onboarding new employees, ensuring new hire paperwork is completed in a timely manner, facilitating orientation meetings, and ensuring company email addresses are setup

Maintain compliance with federal, province, and local employment laws and regulations

Review/approve employee timecards and bi-weekly payroll before submission

Assist in Worker’s Compensation claim filings and follow progress of claims

Process changes of employee status, pay, terminations, password resets etc. in HR & Payroll software

Provide assistance, support, and meeting facilitation in addressing employee performance and behavioral issues. Complete corrective action forms or PIP’s when necessary. Perform exit interviews as needed.

Administer benefit programs such as health, dental vision, vacation, sick leave, and leave of absence requests

Process paperwork for employee leave of absences and track progress until they return to work

Maintain the active and inactive personnel records for employees

Execute the international work visa process, communicating process with trainees, gathering information from immigration attorneys, creating training plans, compiling exhibits, reviewing petition letters, and compiling information as required if a Request for Evidence (RFE) is received

Perform additional duties as required

Full Time RVT Position Required
We are currently looking for an experienced full-time Registered Veterinary Technologist. We strive to utilize our technologists to the full extent of their abilities and, as such, we provide both a stimulating and rewarding work environment.
The ideal candidate for this position will be self-motivated, hard-working, and conscientious with extensive horse experience.
✔ Duties associated with this position include but are not limited to, patient care, general veterinary assistance, surgical assistance, radiology, record keeping, invoicing, and lab work
✔ Opportunity to pursue advanced training in areas of interest is also encouraged
✔ Benefits extended to full-time employees include medical and dental coverage, paid continuing education, uniform/clothing allowance, and paid Provincial Association dues
✔ Salary will be commensurate with experience.

BARN MAINTENANCE
Moore Equine Veterinary Centre thrives on providing the best possible care for our clients and their animals. Located on the north edge of Calgary, Alberta. Moore Equine provides the highest standard of professional and ethical care through continuous development of expertise and a devotion to preserving the enjoyment and duration of the human-animal relationship.
We currently have an opening on our Barn Maintenance Team for a highly motivated, enthusiastic, reliable and industrious individual. The position is part time and would include Saturdays and Sundays and holiday coverage. This is a perfect opportunity for any students that have classes during the week but are looking for part time work! Experience with horses is a must. This job can be physically demanding but is incredibly rewarding in the relationship you will build with fellow teammates and the love and care you provide to the horses in hospital.
