VESICULAR STOMATITIS NOW IS ARIZONA AND NEBRASKA

Posted by:

The states of Arizona and Nebraska have now been placed on the list of quarantined states for Vesicular stomatitis. The states that are now quarantined for VS are Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, South Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska, and Arizona.

For any horses that are going to one of these 7 states or simply passing through there will be a mandatory 21 quarantine period outside of the affected state in a non-affected state. Following the mandatory quarantine period you will have to obtain a new USDA health certificate for your horse to return to Canada. This applies for horses that have been in the USA both under and over 60 days. This also applies to any horses that you have simply driven through any of these 5 states, even if you do not stop and take the horse off the trailer.

We recommend that if you do not need to travel to these states to avoid them if at all possible. If you have any questions or if there is anything we can help with please feel free to contact the office at office@mooreequine.ca or 403-226-2585 and we’d be more than happy to assist.
